Important: Measles Alert

Following a recent outbreak of measles in London, we strongly advise all parents and carers to ensure that children are fully immunised with the MMR vaccine.

Measles is a highly infectious illness and can be serious, particularly for babies, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems. Complications can include ear infections, pneumonia, seizures and, in rare cases, brain inflammation (encephalitis).

Please check your child’s Red Book to confirm they have received both doses of the MMR vaccine. If you are unsure about your child’s vaccination status, please contact the practice and we will be happy to check your records.

If you believe you or your child may have symptoms of measles please do NOT attend the practice in person.
Instead, please telephone the surgery or submit an online consultation so we can advise you safely.

Prescriptions

The quickest and easiest way to order your repeat medication is through the NHS App or by logging into your NHS account through the NHS website. 

How to order online: 

  1. Open the NHS App or log in to your NHS account online. 
  1. Select Prescriptions. 
  1. Select Request a repeat prescription. 
  1. Choose the medication you need and submit your request.  
  1. You can also select or change your chosen pharmacy, where your approved prescription will be sent.  

If you do not already have an NHS login, you can create one when accessing NHS App services online.   

You can also phone or visit the practice within practice opening hours to request your repeat medication. 

Please allow around 48 hours for your prescription to be issued before collection from your chosen pharmacy.

Collecting Your Prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 2 to 3 working days after you have ordered it. You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • On the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • At your GP practice
  • At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

 

Questions About Your Prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

About Pharmacists
